Pentos Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Pentos is a local-first budgeting app. The short version: we collect nothing, because the app sends nothing.

What Pentos stores

Your budget (accounts, transactions, categories, budget assignments, payees, and settings) is stored in a database on your device. Files you import (bank statements) are read on your device and never leave it.

What leaves your device

Nothing. Pentos makes no network connections: no accounts, no sync servers, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising SDKs.

Backups and CSV exports are created only when you ask for them, and go only where you send them (Files, AirDrop, your own cloud storage). Anything you share that way is governed by the destination you choose, not by Pentos.

What we can see

Nothing. We have no servers and no way to access your data. If you delete the app without keeping a backup file, your data is gone and we cannot recover it.

Standard iOS data

Apple provides developers aggregate, opt-in App Store analytics (downloads, crashes). That data comes from Apple under Apple's privacy policy and contains no budget content.
